Father's Day is just around the corner and the Lake Tahoe weather this time of year is perfect for a variety of activities. Here are a few of our favorite ways to honor the Dad in your life:

Treat Dad to a Local Brewery Tour

End a day of excursions with one of these favorite breweries and sports bars in Tahoe. Or make a day of enjoying craft beer on the North Lake Tahoe Ale Trail featuring the best routes for a tasting tour or locating your favorite brews. For a special outdoor meal these favorite patio craft beer locations are sure to please.

Book a Scenic Mountain or Lake-View Tee Time

North Lake Tahoe features six championship golf courses and four executive courses. There are an additional 14 golf courses within an hour's drive of the North Shore. Whether you immerse yourself in Truckee's majestic forests or glacially etched valley courses along Lake Tahoe, there are many challenging courses to choose from.

Guided Fly Fishing Tours

With over 120 miles, from the town of Truckee to the Nevada state line, the Truckee River is stocked with Lahontan Cutthroat, Brook, Brown and Rainbow Trout. There are three main sections of the Truckee River that offer unique angling experiences. Lake Tahoe to Trout Creek is heavily stocked by the state and is fed by many tributaries. This section is very popular with white water rafters and it is advised to start early during the summer months. This section also boasts much clearer water than the rest of the river; acces this section from Highway 89.

Trout Creek to the Boca Reservoir is a Wild Trout stream, it is much cooler, requires barbless hooks only and is the most popular section for fly fishing. Many Brown and Rainbow Trout can be found here; Limit two fish over 15-inches. From the reservoir to the Nevada state line larger Trout may be found and more difficult to fish. The deep water will make wading almost impossible and access is more difficult.
