Holidays and Events

We almost can't believe that the last holiday weekend of the summer is coming up in just a few weeks. What an amazing summer it has been here in Lake Tahoe...and it's not over yet! The Lake Tahoe water temperature is the warmest it's been all season, there is still plenty of sun to soak up, and this weekend is packed full of awesome Labor Day Events. In true North Shore style, Tahoe City and Squaw Valley are going big for one last weekend with live outdoor music, the Foam Fest, and Wine Fest. See you on the lake!

Friday, August 31st - Music on the Beach

Kick off the weekend with a FREE concert at Kings Beach State Recreation Area. The Wrinkle, a local Kings Beach bluegrass/reggae back will rock the stage this Friday. Beer from local craft brewery Alibi Ale Works, red and white wine, and soda will be available for purchase from 6:30pm-9pm. Food from local vendors will also be available to purchase, including burritos, salads, popcorn, ice cream, and more. No outside alcohol or pets are permitted at Tahoe's Music on the Beach.

Saturday, September 1st - Squaw Valley Foam Fest

The 29th Annual Squaw Valley Foam Fest hits over Labor Day 2018. Unlimited beer tastings from over 40 craft breweries plus live music from world-class band Ozomatli?? Count us in! This event takes place at Squaw Valley's KT Base Bar outdoor sun deck. Enjoy live music from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. All proceeds benefit Achieve Tahoe.

Sunday, September 2nd - Alpen Wine Fest

Prefer vino to a cold brew? Don't worry, Squaw Valley has a Labor Day event for you also. 2018 brings the 30th Annual Alpen Wine Fest, which includes wine tasting, live music, a silent auction and raffle. Entry into the event is a donation to Can Do MS, a foundation providing wellness and education for people with Multiple Sclerosis. With the donation, attendees receive a crystal souvenir wine glass and tastings from over 40 vineyards.

Sunday, September 2nd - Labor Day Fireworks

To top off the Tahoe Labor Day weekend, we've got a FREE fireworks show at Gar Woods Grill & Pier at 8:30pm. Make a reservation for dinner on the deck, or bring a blanket and find a spot on the beach. The Labor Day Fireworks Spectacular at Gar Woods is what the end of summer in Tahoe is all about (even though we all know the summer fun continues well into September).
