ABOUT THE AREA

Located halfway between Homewood and Meek’s Bay along Lake Tahoe’s west shore, you’ll find Tahoma, a quiet and quintessential Tahoe town. A true escape from the hectic pace of city life, Tahoma offers access to picturesque beaches, nearby hiking and biking trails, and the oldest lake front bar and restaurant in Tahoe.

During the summer month, visit the public beach at Chamber’s Landing, less than a 10 minute bike ride, or just a three minute drive from your home. The sandy beach is next to Chambers Landing Bar and Grill, or stop at the Tahoma PDQ market and pick up a picnic lunch on your way to the lake. Venture south to Sugar Pine Point State Park, again less than ten minutes via car or bike, to enjoy sandy beaches, hiking trails, fishing, and a picnic area.

During the ski season, you just minutes from Homewood Mountain Resort. Or travel just twenty five to Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows, two of the premier Tahoe ski areas. A single lift ticket provides access to both resorts, and the Squaw/Alpine Express offers between mountain transportation every 20-30 minutes.

POLICIES & DISCLOSURES:

* All of our homes feature a full kitchen, washer and dryer, outdoor grill, and wireless internet (any exceptions will be noted above).

This 3 bedroom home was very spacious and modern and perfect for the 3 families. The kitchen had a lot of tools that were needed. The decks were nice places to have a morning coffee or afternoon snack.

The only issue is that the house's instructions manual was outdated. For example, it said the home was equipped with Dish Network, but it was actually not available.

Outstanding time with 4 generations from one family (ages 3 - 80) including a 4 generation bike ride from Tahoe City down the Truckee River, lunch near Alpine Meadows Road. How many 7 year olds get to bike with their great-grandparents?! We swam 3 days, biked 4 or 5 days, hiked a couple of days including the abandoned rail tunnels above Donner Lake, and creek-walked on Blackwood Creek, and even drove to the Sierra crest and threw snowballs in mid-July! Swam in the lake 3 times (Meeks Bay and Camp Richardson), rented SeaDoo waverunner, and enjoyed 7 home cooked breakfasts and dinners in our vacation rental. House was perfect. Saw the same HUGE bear 3 nights in a row, pawing at the neighbor's bear box. One night we had a perfect view of him. he even stood up on 2 legs once. Home was well equipped and we fed everyone. Used the barbecue 6 out of 7 nights. Would go back.

We had a great stay at this house! Kid friendly as long as you bring a gate at the top of the stairs. The master bedroom was nice and spacious with a large closet for stashing our stuff away. Garage was also great for all our snowboarding gear. The downstairs area is an excellent kids play room. Kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, dishes and good cutlery which can be rare. And the location was an easy 15 minute drive to Tahoe City for dinner with a good pizza place and excellent caf within a 2-5 minute drive/walk from the house. We were able to get to Heavenly within 35 minutes, Squaw was 30 minutes and Northstar 30 minutes so super convenient to a number of mountains.
The management company was also very responsive. They came within hours after we called an said there was an issue with the garbage disposal and they fixed immediately!
Family Fun in the Snow! Married w/Kids sledding wkend. This place was Absolutely Beautiful, we got our money worth. Pros: Easy 2 reserve & find. Spacious. Clean. Beautiful snow setting in the Winter which made all 9 of us (6a/3c) forget about the long drive we had just endured. So much snow FREE sledding practically N E where. Close to neighbors; however, the layout of the house allows for privacy. A private SPA looking out into a Winter wonderland, score! Grand master bed room. We enjoyed the great room & open kitchen being on the top level so adults could enjoy the snowy view & socialize while the kids played below. Seperate thema 4 lower & upper. Lots of extra towels. To work on: Beware the H2o-whoa the water gets scolding fast! There's a trick to watching the cable TV. Need more carpet runners on the lower level spa/garage entry door we had to improvise on how to keep the carpet dry all the time as we came in from playing in the snow or got out of the spa. Garage door remote didn't work. Disposing of wkend trash in required bins for 9 ppl wasn't sufficient. Finally the pull out coach & room w/bunk bed is 4 kids; we tried to take a nap on but the mattresses are horrible they doesn't support adult weight. Travel Tip: Traveling on a budget, bring ur own groceries up as Tahoma is a sml town so the major grocery stores are pricey & close early. Don't 4 get ur dryer sheets! Night life to SLT is about 40m in the Winter mo BC u have 2 drive around the lake. So much FUN. Would return. Had a fantastic time, THX Tahoe getaways!

We spent a week here with our family - 4 adults 2 children ages 3 and 5 - great set up for the young family downstairs and we had upstairs master. In general this was a great home for the week and we had a really fun vacation. Since you are asking, and trying to run a business - here are the things that, if fixed, could make it an even better experience: Garage - could only open and close it from inside - no remote or code. Kitchen: dullest knives ever; heaviest plates ever; pots and pans dirty and old. Downstairs bedroom TV remote did not work; bigger bar soap in showers; no mention of recycling, upstairs master bathroom toilet not flushing well and when it did flush the whole cabin moaned. Check in at 4:00PM and check out at 10AM wastes a lot of time that we pay for - even in at 3:00 - out at 11 would be better - I know you have to clean - but we found chips on the floor so wonder about that. We did have fun and would recommend this home if these things were fixed!

The cabin we stayed at on Memorial Day weekend was nothing less than amazing. The cabin was very modern, spacious, and comfortable. There was a local market located down the street from the cabin, which made it very easy to get supplies. This was my first time visiting Lake Tahoe, for my next visit I will definitely use Tahoe Getaways again.

Beautiful house in a woodsy, quiet neighborhood. Our family of 5 (with 3 boys ages 12, 10 and 8) was very comfortable with lots of space. The house has cozy furniture and beds and the kitchen is well-stocked. We all enjoyed the hot tub off of the lower deck. This was our first trip to Lake Tahoe and, I have to say, Tahoma is a great location for a ski trip. Homewood is right next door, Squaw/Alpine Meadows is about a 15-20 minute drive and Heavenly is about 40 minutes away. We hit them all! The little PDQ Market is a short walk and has the basic necessities plus great sandwiches (my kids also loved their smoothie machine!)

My only criticism: I agree with the prior reviewer that noted a lack of blinds/curtains. The house next door looks right into this place. Fortunately, no one was renting that house during our week, otherwise they would have had a good view into our place! Curtains or blinds would easily solve that little issue.

We had a great time! the house exceeded our expectations in every way! We had our family all together, cooked large meals in the well appointed kitchen, kept entertained with the large TVs and great selection of board games and simply enjoyed ourselves. Thank you very much for the great experience and we look forward to returning soon.

Gorgeous house near the west shore. Our son loved having his own private floor below with access to the hot tub. Would definitely stay here again.

The house was set up perfectly. We wanted a few days to relax in Tahoe and that is just what we got. We enjoyed the spa and home cooked meals. The house had all the proper cooking utensils and supplies for a pot of beef stew and eggs for breakfast. We took walks around the neighborhood and even made our way down to the PDQ market for some bread and garlic.

We had a great vacation on the west shores of Lake Tahoe and were very pleased with our selection of this property. The home was more than adequate, well away from the main drag and with comfortable rooms, lovely decor and quality furnishings that created a visually pleasing and relaxing environment. Everything was clean and in wonderful condition. We appreciated access to everything we needed to make ourselves feel right at home. We do recommend top-of-the-line toilet plungers in all of the bathrooms to manage the idiosyncrasies of the low flow toilets required in California, but other than that, we could not have been more pleased. In addition, the two people we interacted with at the rental office at the beginning and end of our stay were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful.

Future renters will want to know that the property is not nearly as secluded or private as the photographs depict. While this did not deter our fun, we were surprised that there were houses within ten feet on both the north and south. No window coverings on the north side made it possible to become acquainted with the neighbors, whose saws and hammers were busy all but two of our eight day visit. We were gone most of the daylight hours, they were courteous about not starting their work before 7:00 am each morning, and it was a neighborhood setting, so we took it I stride. We would recommend the property to others - after the work next door is complete.

Even though it was our first visit to Lake Tahoe, it didn't take long to figure out that the west shore was a great location, away from commercial distractions, close to state and national parks for hiking and sightseeing, and with just enough of a small town feel to leave our city lives behind.

We came to understand why everyone smiled and told us how much we would end up loving Lake Tahoe. Now we're the ones with stories and smiles!

We were impressed with the personal service from Tahoe Getaways, I would not go anywhere else to book a place in North Shore. The home was beautiful and kept up so well, we had 8 people and there was enough sitting area for all of us to relax, the kitchen was beautiful, plenty of space in the bathrooms, it was luxurious. Overall experience was wonderful.

Very nice property - Equipped with everything we needed for a family ski vacation. The Property management company is very well organized, which makes the check-in and check-out process easy. Master bedroom is huge; downstairs bedrooms are smaller. We were 2 adults, plus kids ages 7 and 5, and the property worked out great. We could have fit another set of adults (i.e. grandparents)but it would have been a stretch if we had shared it with another family (with kids). Overall, it's a great property for 1-2 sets of adults plus a couple of kids. We would stay there again next time.

My family spent a week at West Shore Bliss in February 2014 and had a great time. When we arrived we were happy that all the positive reviews were accurate -- the quality of the home was top notch, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well outfitted, etc. We skied at Homewood for a few days and made the trek to Northstar and Squaw too. We even went snowmobiling one day down in Hope Valley by Kirkwood too. For us this was a great location. We'll rent this fantastic home again!

This was the second time we stayed at this home. It is a great property. It is a beautiful home with great amenities. Great layout with lots of room. I would go back again. This property is generally well-equipped but it would be even better if there were a couple things supplied in small quantities - bath soap, shampoo, salt/pepper, coffee filters. This is especially true for short, weekend trips. The addition of a hair dryer would also be great.
