Description

Experience mountain life as you’ve never before in this beautiful three-bedroom west shore vacation rental. Completely remodeled, this once traditional Tahoe cabin has been transformed into a modern mountain escape.

Set back in a quiet woodsy neighborhood, this cabin is perfect for a small family or two couples traveling together. About 3 miles from downtown Tahoe City and about 10 miles from Palisades Tahoe, this west shore cabin rental offers a vacation that’s off the beaten trail, but still a short distance away from skiing, hiking, dining, and shopping!

This modified A-frame cabin is simple and tasteful in it’s modern design and features, custom woodwork, pleasant natural light and brand new furnishings and appliances. Your guests will love the open feel of the living space. Walk into the full kitchen to start a meal. A huge center island and ample cabinet space make even a full-scale holiday meal a breeze. A wood table for up to 8 guests completes the main living space, which is great for sit-down meals together.

The main floor bedroom features a queen-size bed and just across the hall a brand new bathroom featuring a large glass shower. The remaining two guest bedrooms are located upstairs and share a full bathroom with both a glass shower and a separate soaking tub. Young ones in your group will love the custom built-in bunk beds in the loft bedroom that also provides ample space for game playing or popping in a movie while the adults relax downstairs or outside in the private hot tub!

Conveniently located two miles south of Tahoe City, you’ll find the quintessential Tahoe neighborhood of Sunnyside. This heavily wooded section on Lake Tahoe’s west shore features Old Tahoe style homes and classic cabins. Homes in this neighborhood are all centrally located on between Homewood and Tahoe City.

Just down the road you’ll find Sunnyside Resort and Marina and William Kent Shoreline. William Kent beach is situated in a wooded setting and offers picnic tables and grills with views across Lake Tahoe of the eastern shoreline. Next door, Sunnyside Resort is a favorite year round lakeside dining option.

During the ski season, you are less than fifteen minutes from Homewood Mountain Resort. Or travel to Palisades Tahoe (formally known as Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows) which is the largest ski resort in Lake Tahoe.  Palisades Tahoe has a shuttle that runs continuously between the base area of Olympic Valley & Alpine Meadows when both resorts are open for operations, weather, and traffic permitting.

Perfect place

When our RV unexpectedly broke, we scrambled to look for a place to stay and found this charming home. I was surprised by the unique modern design and new amenities inside. There were four adults and three kids that fit comfortably. All of the appliances worked except for the fan in the kitchen. We all loved the construction of this home and the backyard surrounded with trees. I just hoped there are more blankets and better wifi. There’s no AC in the unit but we didn’t need it. We will for sure come back here next time we travel with another family.

House was great. Good service from management. Only real negative was that it took us a few weeks to get the internet going which wasn't totally within management's control due to storm and Suddenlink's customer service.

Manager Response:

Thank you so much for renting with Tahoe Getaways. This guest was at this home for a ski-lease. We are glad to report that the internet has been restored.

The house is adorable. The kids loved the play area loft and the big back yard full of snow. The hot tub is great. This was my 2nd time here. I’d recommend putting bar soap in the bathrooms at least. My expectation when renting is that there should be basic toiletries included. The only soap here was in the kitchen for hands. An ice cube tray would be appreciated. The power went out and there were no candles. We had to leave a day early to avoid the snow storm which was a bummer but beyond anyone’s control.

Absolutely loved the house itself and the location. Great setup and nice and newly updated which was even better! My only frustration was some of the missing key essentials. We had to go out and buy paper towels, dish soap and hand soap. I also would highly suggest in investing in air purifiers. The smoke was quite strong inside the house. Otherwise, absolutely loved it!!!

Manager Response:

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay! We do supply a starting supply of toilet paper to get our guests through to their first trip to the store. Typically that is a fresh roll or a roll and whatever is left on the holder at the time. Based on group size or length of stay, guests should expect to restock for their use when needed.

Awesome A Frame

This was a perfect house for our family of 4. Two bedrooms are private so Whomever sleeps in the loft gets awoken by noise ( because it is an A frame a lot of the. Windows aren’t shaded so put your early risers in the loft) and if those sleeping in loft don’t use downstairs bathroom then they walk almost into master to use the upstairs bathroom. Kitchen is beautiful -new, well appointed. No pantry staples so if you want to cook buy everything . And if you want coffee it is a Keurig So bring pods. I loved the aesthetics of the home. The street is a dead end so under normal circumstances quiet . We had the bad timing to be there when street was being dug up to put in water meters. Some days we were stuck or just late because we could not get our car out and we got a flat tire because of some construction debris on the road. The guys doing the work were very nice and accommodating . I would try and give them a head’s up if we knew we needed out at a specific time and we also parked on a different street sometimes. I do not want that to reflect badly on this house because it really is a gem.

Manager Response:

Thank you for your review! While the road work was certainly not ideal, thank you for making the best of it and understanding that we unfortunately don't have control over this. We did ask the workers to try to accommodate our renters to the best of their ability, so I am glad to hear they did so. We agree that this property is adorable and that shouldn't take away from its charm and allure.

The space was wonderful. 6 of us fit just fine, with plenty of room to enjoy meals together, relax in the hot tub, and enjoy the nature around Tahoe. Would recommend to anyone needed a respite from the city, or just looking for a modern, well decorated spot to relax.

This house is beautifully decorated and well appointed. We loved making meals in the kitchen and enjoying the outdoor space. I would just say that it would be nice to have a few things added like sugar and salt and oil for the kitchen. I loved how they provided so many beach and regular towels. Also if you have small children the bunk beds can be a little bit of a hazard since they don't have any side railings to prevent kids from falling out. However, my older kids loved this home! We wished we could have stayed longer.

We stayed here last weekend and it was amazing. My husband and I loved every detail of the home. It was a big house, fit two couples and 3 babies perfectly. Seriously the most thought out, well designed home I have ever seen in person. They either hired an interior designer or someone has some real talent. All the furniture was comfy, the beds were comfy, the bathrooms were nice and big and functional. We unfortunately didn't get a chance to use the hot tub but it looked nice lol. I seriously was in awe of the house the entire weekend. It was less than a 5min drive to Tahoe city and about 15-20 minutes to squaw. Would 100% stay there again.

This cabin was perfect for my family of 3, including our 4 year old son. The downstairs was open, perfect space, loved the front door area which the extra storage and hooks for bags and coats, the has foreplace warmed the downstairs nicely! The remodel was gorgeous, loved every addition and the bathrooms were perfect! One downside, upon arriving, housekeeping did not take the time to inspect the bedding. All sheets had hairs all over along with black fuse, the comforters also were in need of a washing. After washing all bedding, we were set for a very happy ski vacation.

Manager Response:

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the home but apologize about the misses on the housekeeping front. We have addressed this with our housekeeping team, so it should not be an issue moving forward.

Usually you look at pictures and you wonder if it will be big or small, this was a good size very cool unique cabin. Also they shoveled out the hot tub which was under 10' of snow! It was almost like walking through a snow canyon to get to it, but that just made it cooler.

great hot tub!
