Delight the whole family with a visit to Norse Hall! This upscale Tahoe Donner vacation rental boasts contemporary mountain design, upgraded finishes and a unique floor plan offering the variety necessary to accommodate each of your traveling companions.

On the main floor, the great room offers comfortable couch seating, plus bean bags and poufs perfect for cuddling up for a movie - television, Blu-Ray player, and stereo are all available. A wood stove adds to the authentic mountain vibe as you unwind after a long day of adventuring. Adjacent to the great room, the kitchen is the home's showstopper. Granite slab counters, cherry cabinets, a kitchen island with a second sink, five burner gas range, and a wine cooler will all delight the family chef. In the summer months, bring the cooking outdoors and take advantage of the Weber gas grill.

A private guest room is also located on the main floor, separated by a hallway and a few stairs. The room is outfitted with a queen bed, gas fireplace, wet bar with mini fridge and sink, as well as a sitting area and en suite bath. A sliding door offers direct access to an outdoor deck.

Upstairs, you'll find the Primary bedroom with a king bed, a small walk-in closet, and an en suite bath with a jetted tub. Opposite the bed wall, the Primary bedroom opens to the living room below.

An additional queen guest room and a converted bunk room are also located on this floor, sharing a full bath. A sitting room provides a second social space and is a perfect place for younger travelers to relax. The room is set up with a television, leather sofa, and books for all ages, as well as access to the upper deck.

Outdoors, let your cares melt away as you enjoy a soak in the private hot tub. During the summer months, the covered patio and landscaped yard are the perfect places to enjoy the peace and quiet of the Sierra's.

ABOUT THE AREA
Tahoe Donner is one of America’s largest homeowner’s associations, with nearly 6,500 properties and 25,000 members enjoying over 7,000 acres in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

In the winter, enjoy on-site access to cross country and downhill skiing, and a snow play area which is a favorite among our younger visitors. In the summer, take advantage of the championship golf course and clubhouse, or bring the family to one of the private swimming pool complexes. You’ll also have access to a private beach club at Donner Lake, where you can avoid the crowds and spend a day paddle boarding, kayaking, or sunbathing on provided chaise lounges.

Dining options within the community include The Lodge Restaurant and Pub, winner of the 2015 Open Table Diners’ Choice Award, and Pizza on the Hill, a casual spot perfect for the whole family.

Compared to other North Shore Tahoe locations, staying in Tahoe Donner cuts the drive from the bay area down by close to 45 minutes, so you’ll be enjoying the first cocktail of your vacation while others are still stuck in traffic. Spectacular time in Tahoe Donner

Our family spent six days at the Norse Hall house in Tahoe Donner. We loved the spacious home, the views from the back windows and driveway deck, and the proximity to Donner Lake, Truckee River, Martis Creek, downtown, and more. The house has wonderful bedrooms, great fans and circulation for the hot summer nights, and an open kitchen/dining/living room for enjoying your group or family vacation. We used the HOA pool one day for $17 per person, and made a stop at the convenient nearby Z Market for a last minute item. The kids played ping pong in the garage, my husband barbecued a great dinner on the home’s gas grill, and I got a relaxing soak in the hot tub! We brought bikes and did some neighborhood laps, but some of the hills down to Donner Pass Road were too intense for our little riders. We loved our stay and got lots of Ooh’s and Aah’s when we shared our vacation pictures.

This is an absolutely amazing place to stay. Easily accessible by well-plowed roads, we were charmed by absolutely everything in this warm and welcoming home. The master suite features a luxurious jacuzzi tub and marble shower. (Just be aware that the room overlooks the great room. It does feature sliding barn doors to cover the balcony-like opening, but if you are the first to bed, or the last to awaken, you will hear noise from downstairs. For us, it was absolutely not a problem.) We were three couples, and everyone had plenty of personal space, loved their rooms and baths. The great room is outstanding, with huge ceilings to admire the snow outdoors, a cozy fireplace, plenty of room for dining, cooking, relaxing. We loved the outdoor gas fire table for evening gatherings (s'mores!), and the hot tub was excellent after a day of skiing. The Tahoe Donner x-country resort is nearby (actually walkable from the house) and the downhill resort is a short drive. The Lodge, also nearby, is a great place for dinner and/or drinks, and the town of Truckee offers lovely shops, food and drink options, and all the major chains for food, pharmacy, etc. we were there in winter but it looks like there are lots of nearby hiking trails, it would be lovely in summer as well. We fell in love with this home, wish we could live here forever!

Manager Response:

Thank you for staying with Tahoe Getaways! Future guests please make note that the use of outdoor firepits (even gas) is not permitted at any of our homes. The risk to forest fires is just too high.

As soon as you go in to this beautiful mountain lodge you experience the combination of great style, interesting architect, comfort ,cleanliness, and a home that is exquisitely decorated and everything there for your creature comforts. From the fluffy white plush towels, To the crisp cotton sheets, to a very well stocked kitchen, to a spa like a hot tub, to the exquisite hand woven rugs underfoot. You could even be tempted when you stay here to not even step outside because it’s so lovely, but you notice that it is so well situated for great hikes nearby, as well as the convenience of the little town too. I thoroughly recommend staying here and give it five stars.

Beautiful mountain lodge set in a peaceful star filled setting. Everything has been designed for comfort, elegance and no expense has been spared; Down to the plush towels the linens and the beautiful antique rugs. And extremely well equipped kitchen as well as a grill outside to make cooking fun, and a hot tub in the early morning or under the star canopy is a real treat. This is a four bedroom, three full bathrooms beautiful home. The great room has a fireplace to make it cosy. Everything about this space is luxurious!

Our family of five needed all of the features this home's photos and description advertised. Everyone of our expectations was met. The wood-burning stove and ample supply of wood, the new jacuzzi, the comfortable beds, the fully-stocked kitchen, fun and interesting artwork, and beautiful views in every space all contributed to the coziness and function of a fantastic vacation home. We were only able to stay 3 nights, but in the middle of all the stress, it was a blessing that gave us space and facilities to rest and refresh.

Very nice home

This home was great for two families with teenagers. There is one master down and one up. The secondary bedrooms are upstairs and share a bath. The beds were very comfortable. Kitchen very well stocked. Plenty of bath and beach towels. In addition, there are plenty of movies, games and books, hot tub and fire pit. I would recommend Donner Lake, Sand Harbor & King’s Beach. Be sure to get there early (and for Sand Harbor an hour before they open) if you want to secure parking and rent any paddle boards, etc. There are a few reasons I am giving the property a “4” instead if a “5”. -there is some deferred maintenance at the home like leaking under the kitchen sink (which we reported twice and were told to “put a bowl under it” so management wouldn't disturb us, but it’s obviously been going on for quite sometime) and paint peeling from exterior of home. Also book shelves and end tables holding the books really need to be cleared of dust. -the description of the property lead me to believe that we could use the HOA facilities but visitors should know there is a charge of $16/person for your 90 minute allotted time frame, which you must reserve in advance. Only four guests are allowed to reserve so advertising the “access” to the facilities should not be the sole reason you choose this property since it gets costly for a party of 7 to “access the facilities”.

This is a beautiful home, with its huge glass windowed great room, full of sunlight overlooking the grounds and hot tub under the stars. Each room is spacious and beautifully decorated, classic, plushy with a modern twist on rustic. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need, and no expense has been spared in the linens, and bedding too. Spacious, and meticulously clean, this gorgeous mountain retreat offers a sanctuary that is private and quiet and yet near to trails, ski resort and a small shopping center.

Fantastic home, very clean, great location, and can't wait to go back! Particularly enjoyed the hot tub after skiing and throwing meat on the grill. The wood fired heater created a perfect ambiance. All the tech you could want including solid WiFi (named The Angry Squirrel!) and a high end entertainment center. The place was professionally managed and it was a smooth process getting in and out. Highly recommend staying here!
