ABOUT THE AREA

Located at the northern tip of Lake Tahoe, just west of the Nevada State border, is Kings Beach. Known for its outstanding public beach, kick back attitude, and easy access to mountain resorts, Kings Beach is a spot travelers return to year after year. The North Tahoe Event Center often plays host to festivals, concerts, and community events, and downtown Kings Beach boasts shopping and dining options open year round.

Kings Beach State Recreation Area is the flagship beach site in the North Tahoe area. With a lake front stretch of 1,700 feet, it is the largest public access sandy beach on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. Its south facing aspect and a lake floor that gradually deepens makes this one of the warmest swimming areas on the Lake. A beautiful playground area overlooks the water and barbecue and picnic areas are available. The beach is adjacent to shops, restaurants and the North Tahoe Event Center.

In the winter, you are just ten minutes from Northstar California. There, enjoy access to almost 100 trails and over 3,000 skiable acres, impeccable grooming, incredible tree skiing and enough variety to challenge every level of skier. Take advantage of world class terrain parks, cross country skiing, a youth Adventure Park, and a 9000 square foot ice rink surrounded by fire pits and a rink side bar.

Great home

We had a great stay, everything as advertised. Be aware that there is no shopping or dining in walking/biking distance.

Checkout time (10am) is too early (12pm or 1pm to 4pm should be enough for cleaning) and having to pay extra for early check-in is a bit of a rip-off given that one has already paid for the whole day.

A bit on the pricey side but you get a big home with really nice views.

We were reminded by the management company that kids shouldn't be too loud and in the same email warned there was construction next door... (no work was going on during our WE)

Manager Response:

Thank you for your feedback. For years our Check-In time has been 4pm and our Check-Out time, 10am. We consistently received requests from guests about being able to guarantee an earlier check-in, which we had not been able to guarantee at that time. Guests traveling with young children or those with afternoon plans have asked us to provide this alternative, and have been willing to pay for the piece of mind. So, we listened, and this year rolled out Priority Check-In as an optional upgrade. Similar to priority boarding on a flight, those who see the value in it can take advantage, but it is completely optional.

The Perfect Everything

The pictures don't do this home justice! The views were breathtaking from almost EVERY room in the house! This was a perfect retreat for our family and friends being super kid and grown up friendly. A little out of the way, but totally worth it for the privacy you get here! With fresh snow we were able to have endless fun sledding and snow shoeing in the back "yard" that seemed to never end.
The home was clean and well worth the cost. My only annoyance was that there was only 2 garbage bags and 1 paper towel roll, not nearly enough for a week stay.
The customer service from my initial inquiry to check out was impeccable.
We hope to be able to rent this winter family getaway again.

Spacious, clean, and modern. We enjoyed spectacular lake-view sunrises, short commutes to Northstar, and friendly neighbors. We were 7 adults and 5 young children, and everyone enjoyed themselves.

With the exception of a backed-up bathroom sink drain, everything in this large home worked beautifully. Thank you!

A Perfect Tahoe Thanksgiving

Our family trip to Tahoe exceeded expectations. The house is in a great location, was spotlessly clean when we arrived and had the picturesque view as advertised. We ate in every meal and found more than enough kitchen pots/pan/prep items to satisfy us. The prior review regarding lack of platters was accurate (and no, 2 plates don’t replace a platter). Loved the windows on the back of the house (especially when a pair of gray wolves passed behind the house early one morning). The master bedroom fireplace was fabulous.

We look forward to renting it in the future.

Manager Response:

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. We are so glad you loved the home as much as we do!

Just 4 hardcore golfers looking to crash each nite from 2 rounds of golf for 3 days straight. The views of the lake and the comfy surroundings forced us to slow down and take in the magic of the north shore. Serious pride of ownership and wonderful floor plan made it hard to leave. Kudos to the owners and your wonderful program. We should be callling again soon.

Manager Response:

So glad to hear your enjoyed the home! We would welcome you back anytime.

we had a great time ...the house needs better lighting. And only one side of king bedrooms had a table and lamp. Also the house had no platters.

Manager Response:

Glad you enjoyed your stay! Your feedback will be very helpful for future renters. We recommend using the overhead light for reading in the master bedroom, and while dishes and cookware are provided, we recommend bringing anything special that is important to your group for serving. Otherwise, two regular dinner plates work just as well!

super clean, beautiful views, but...

This cabin was incredibly clean and comfortable, but, when we got the call from the property management to tell us it was ready to check in, they said the previous two renters had late parties and the neighbors were ready to call the sheriff if we made any noise after 10pm ... um, welcome??? It is described as having acreage but it is all behind the cabin, it is actually very close to the neighbors (which is probably why they were so annoyed by the previous renters noise). The hot tub is actually about 20 feet from the neighbors living room. This was an annual trip we make with 5 families and usually we trade off hosting dinner at one cabin each night and we ended up canceling our night to host. There are no shades in the master bedroom and the view is amazing, but the sun comes shooting in at 6am so bring a sleep mask if you want to sleep in. The bunk room is about the size of a walk in closet. We had planned to have our 14 year old son and his friend stay in there but it was WAY too small, more appropriate for small children. They ended up sleeping on the foldout couch in the game room which they loved anyway. The living room was comfy and game room was a great addition for our teenagers. The property is located at the end of a residential road and we had friends in Tahoe City so it we had a lot of travel time. It is about 5-10 minutes from King's Beach so not too bad if that is your destination. Like I said, it was clean but we probably wouldn't stay here again. It didn't "feel" as much of a mountain cabin as we prefer (clean, but modern furnishings with an Asian feel), it was far from where our friends were staying and we enjoy walking to the lake, the neighbors dog barked a LOT, there was construction, window washers at both neighbors at 8am one morning with music playing, just a lot of normal neighborhood noise... But the property management was great and even delivered a replacement coffee pot right away when we discovered it was broken.

Manager Response:

Thank you for taking to provide this detailed feedback. Future renters should take note, as everything this guest mentioned is accurate, and consistent with the information provided in the listing. We certainly wouldn't recommend the home if you are looking for something close to Tahoe City, walking distance to the lake, and decorated in a traditional mountain style. If that is what you are looking for we have some much more appropriate options. Rather, this home would be perfect for a group seeking beautiful views, a tastefully updated cabin with a contemporary feel, and something in the Kings Beach or Tahoe Vista area. And we do inform all of our renters that our home's maximum occupancy is to be respected at all times. This home is certainly not large enough to accommodate five families for dinner, so we're happy to hear you chose to abide by our policies.

House was beautiful! Gorgeous views throughout the house and big enough so everyone had their own space. Positives: Kitchen was a a cooks' dream, very large and great for large families with a huge center island. The hot tub could use a hanging shade/blind so the neighbors cant see you in the hot tub. The game room was fantastic for the kids, and there were large screen TV's throughout the house. The only negative was they must not of provided enough sanitizer/cleaner for the hot tub, because we used it the first night and it didn't self clean so we had to call and have someone come the next day to clean it.

Manager Response:

We are so glad to hear you enjoyed the home! Hot tubs are different than large swimming pools, and it is important to rinse off prior to using the tub. That said, we have an in house spa care division and are always happy to assist!

Loved it. We had lots of kids and adults there was space for all. We mostly sat around the kitchen island because it was huggge. One thing I would say wasn't so good is for being a kid friendly rental, the Devore as far as the dining room table and entry way table right above the stairs looked very expensive and like you didn't want your kids anywhere near them because you were afraid they like break something. Kitchen had all necessary things, plenty of towels and blankets for fort making. Game room was very nice. And it was greattttttt we were in town early and the rental company let us in early for no extra fee. That was nice because it seems like everyone else is fee for this fee for that and so that was very nice.

We absolutely loved the house and location. The only minor issue we encountered was the hot water in the bathrooms not staying hot, thus, showers were short and some had cold showers. The house was clean upon arrival and extremely spacious. Loved the game room, hot tub and the option for a late checkout!

Property manager is very responsive and helpful. I love the layout of the house and amenities. The two bathroom downstairs have been remodeled and in a very good shape. The lake view is beautiful and can be seen from almost every room

A group of 8 of us stayed here for the weekend. The house is very large and has great amenities. The kitchen was huge and allowed us to have people cooking and hanging out at the same time. Only hiccups were not enough toilet paper supplied, neighbors made comments to us about renting the property and the pull out couches were not comfortable for adults to sleep on. Overall though we enjoyed the house and gave us a great place to call home for a couple days.

Thanks to the owners for sharing your beautiful home.

The home was beautiful, and spotless when we arrived. The beautiful art work was an unexpected bonus. We also loved the bathroom upgrades. The property was just right for our family (five adults, two dogs). The dogs were in heaven -- an entire forest at their disposal! We would definitely recommend this property.

Very nice house in most respects. Master bathroom with its multiple shower heads very nice. Rec room with pool table a plus. Downside: The dinning room table chairs had worn out seats and we couldn't sit on them - need re-upholstering. Overall a good experience.

When we arrived at the house we found it to be extremely clean and well maintained. The kitchen is a little aged but we never noticed because everything was so clean. The size of the house was perfect for all nine of us. Greatly enjoyed the incredible view of Lake Tahoe and loved sitting on the balcony listening to the wind blow through the trees and hearing the squirrels eat the pine cones. The house is located in a very quiet neighborhood and we were never disturbed by traffic noise. Its location provided easy access to Kings Beach and other areas of North Tahoe. It is also a short 30 minute drive to Truckee and Donner Lake. The pool table and Foosball table were in great shape and kept the boys entertained. We look forward to staying here again next year. We are considering coming back in the winter to go skiing.

Wonderful Weekend at Lake View

We arrived in the evening, so we couldn't see the view, but the weather was perfect and we enjoyed some wine out on the deck. The night we arrived there was a smell of mildew coming from under the kitchen sink, but I didn't notice in in the following days.

The game room was awesome! We had a great time playing pool and foosball with some free UFC fights on. There are king beds in both the master and one of the guest rooms and a queen in the other. Plenty of space and plenty of couches for more people.

There is a grocery store, golf course, and several restaurants all within 2 miles of the property and the neighborhood is quiet and serene. We drove down to the beach on Saturday and rented paddle boards for an hour and then had lunch at the golf course.

The home was very clean and had a great layout with a big kitchen. It was a wonderful weekend away spending quality time with the family. We would definitely rent it again and recommend it to friends!

My wife and I booked our honeymoon through Tahoe Getaways. Initially we had selected another property, but due to an act of God, the house we selected was unavailable. Lake Tahoe Getaways went above and beyond to find another property (even better than the one we had originally selected) and make sure that our stay was unforgettably awesome! They even left us some flowers, chocolates and a bottle of champagne for when we arrived at Kings Way. Everything was perfect and we greatly enjoyed our stay at Lake Tahoe. We would encourage anyone looking to rent a place at Lake Tahoe to book through Lake Tagoe Getaways.

Two years ago, my family spent Christmas week at Kings Way Lake View. We arrived in a blizzard and found the warmth and decor of this vacation home to be welcoming and calming. We came back for Christmas week, 2014, and enjoyed it just as much. The house is huge and thus the seven of us could find privacy if we wanted it. The game room and spa were much enjoyed. The kitchen is a joy to use and the living areas are spacious. The view of the lake is gorgeous. Sunrise is spectacular. Both Squaw and North Star are in easy reach as are the casinos in Nevada. We look forward to
returning again and
again.

We stayed here for 3 days and wished that could be extended! What a wonderful home this is. It has a big kitchen with all the amenities you need so getting meals ready for everyone was no problem. Just bring food! We had 3 families with 2 kids but this place can easily accommodate another with sofa beds in the game room as well as the living room. Wifi was stable, living room has a flat screen TV with DVD and a Wii!! Game room has another flat screen TV, pool table and fooseball table! It's in a quiet location with a fantastic view overlooking the lake. It's a 10 min drive to Kings beach and 15 mins to Northstar which was very convenient. My wife and my friends all said they want to come back again! I can't wait.

Vey nice home especially in the rain. Could not enjoy the nice deck much because of the weather. Only minus is that it is a bit far from stores, beach etc. Would have been nice to have had bath soap and a hair dryer but not a big deal.

The photos do not do this place justice. The lake view and deck for this property are wonderful. This home is very spacious. The beds comfortable and baths updated (though remember to bring a bar of soap). The game room is a wonderful bonus; we enjoyed playing pool and foosball. While pet friendly on the inside, getting pups in and out is a bit tricky (we recommend going out through the garage if your pet is older). The kitchen is nice and large, from the 80s, but not as well equipped or organized as many of the other properties we've rented. It does have wifi, but the DSL is slow. Fine for keeping in touch, but probably not for streaming. We did have some rain. There are no gutters, so all the debris from the room drains onto the deck and unfortunately the cushions. We were able to sweep everything off and still enjoy deck. Overall, we really enjoyed this home. The home is conveniently located, and you will enjoy lovely views and a good night's sleep.

We had a great time at this spacious house with enough room for 2 families. The kids enjoyed the game room and hot tub. The view was gorgeous. The kitchen was spacious. Our gourmet cooks would have preferred a gas range however the layout made cooking and conversing really fun. We did feel slightly nervous about the fancy table with lots of instructions on how to use. Overall, the house was great and we would consider renting again. THANKS

We had a group of 10 but the house was so enormous that you could have fit 30 people in there! Lots of things to do indoors and spaces to chill out.
Very professionally managed with great customer support.
