Summer is almost here, North Tahoe!
Memorial Day Weekend marks the unofficial start of summer in North Lake Tahoe, and Opening Weekend on the Lake from May 21-25 serves as the region’s signature kickoff celebration at communities across the North and West Shores — from Kings Beach to Tahoe City and down the West Shore to Alpine Meadows.
For the first time, this beloved event — previously held for 16 years and last celebrated in 2019 — will expand to include all of North Lake Tahoe, bringing together businesses, nonprofits, and public agencies for a coordinated, region-wide celebration.
Produced by the Tahoe City Downtown Association and the Kings Beach District, the event is designed to support the local economy.
Festivities could include:
- Deck and patio openings
- Historic mansion and museum tours
- Live music and entertainment
- Boating and marina openings
- Outdoor BBQs and special exhibits
- Beach and campground openings
- Community cleanups
- Family-friendly activities throughout the region
- Boat parades
- Boat, kayaking or SUP tours and events
- Other activities
