Valmont Trails Townhome is a fantastic rental home with every upgrade imaginable overlooking the 7th green in the exclusive golfing community of Schaffer's Mill. The upstairs great room boasts an open floor plan with new, upscale furnishings, gourmet kitchen, large windows and vaulted ceilings. Enjoy conversing with the chef around the huge granite kitchen island. Later, the formal dining table for eight plus three additional bar seats at the kitchen island, provide ample space for the whole group.

On the main floor, you'll also find an elegant junior master suite with queen bed, flat screen TV and a beautiful en-suite bath double vanity and glass shower. Across the hall, a large office space allows you to stay productive during your getaway, but also doubles as a bedroom with a queen sized Murphy bed.

Downstairs, you'll find the main master suite which is complete with a king bed, flat-screen TV and a huge master bath with both a glass shower and jetted soaking tub. The fourth and final bedroom is down the the hall and offers a bunk as well as another flat-screen TV too

1. Sorry, Schaffer's Mill no longer allows renter access to Swim, Tennis, and Fitness Facilities.

2. There is a lot of construction taking place in this neighborhood. The HOA has rules in place pertaining to hours of work, noise, etc; Guests are advised to contact Tahoe Getaways in advance of making a reservation with questions.

We thoroughly enjoyed being in Schaefer Mills. It's a great community and the house was wonderful. Quiet and comfortable for our family. Great place to relax and enjoy being in Tahoe.

The unit is in a good location and has great potential, but there were a few issues that detracted from the stay. First, the air conditioning was not working. The management company was very responsive, but there were a couple of hot nights for those sleeping upstairs. It seems that the AC is something that would be checked (it doesn't appear to have been used this year) before renting. Second, although the interior was clean, the exterior decks and furniture were not. I would recommend the property, but with reservations.

I apologize that there were issues with the air conditioning when you checked in, but I'm glad we could get it back up and running for your group within about 24 hours. It is true that the pine pollen in the area during summer months can build up quickly! While we do blow off the deck and patio furniture during our preparation of the home, one gust of wind can add an unwanted layer of pollen to outdoor surfaces.

Two issues:
1. Not enough towels for those residing in the rental.

We have stayed here before and it's a nice home. There were a few things - upstairs towels smelled of mold, the scrubber in the sink as well as sponge needed replacement and the bbq was out of propane. Little things but should be addressed with the cleaning company. We have stayed at 6 different homes in the Truckee area - this is the one company which both times we have stayed have not allowed late checkout. Personally I think 10am is early for checkout (typically 11am is standard) but it is what it is. We stayed at Old Greenwood the last visit and management was very flexible on checkin/checkout - house was immaculate. We would stay here again but would probably look around first before we chose this property just due to the checkout and housekeeping issues. Overall - nice house, good location and great for 2 small families.

1) FOR THE ECOND YEAR IN A ROW THE FIRE PIT PROPANE BOTTLE WENT OUT AFTER 1 HOUR. IT MIGHT BE NICE IF YOU HAD AN EXTRA ONE JUST IN CASE THIS HAPPENS TO ANOTHER GUEST.
2)THERE WERE NO STEAK KNIVES FOR WHEN WE BAR-B-QUED TO EAT OUR STEAKS WITH.
3) THE REMOTE UPSTAIRS WHERE THE LIVING AREA IS DOES NOT TURN THE TV ON AND OFF, WE HAD TO DO IT MANUALLY.

My family stayed in this home for Thanksgiving. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs and 2 bedrooms downstairs. 3 of the 4 bedrooms had private bathrooms inside the bedrooms. The home is spacious, clean, and well equipped. We loved staying here!

Clean well kept great location. What a nice property - very clean on a quiet street. Very pretty view with no big construction going on nearby. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. One note for families with small children - the kitchen is upstairs which is challenging with mobile babies and the stairs going to the lower floor. Oh and make sure to get the gate code there is no gate guard after 8pm

The property was perfect and in great shape. Never felt like you were staying in a townhome...felt like you were in your own house. Great nearby amenities and nice view of the 7th house from the deck. The property management company was excellent to work with and very accommodating.

This location inside Schaffer Mill community was beautiful. The house was spotlessly clean. We loved the wood floors.Perfect location on the 7th fairway of Schaffer Mill golf course. After playing golf all day it was great to come back and relax, cook steaks and enjoy beautiful Truckee. Love the tall pine trees, gentle breezes, new leaves, green grass. Just perfect. Highly recommend Tahoe Resort Property Management Inc. We had absolutely no problems. LOOOOVED IT!

The house near golf course and we regret not bring a gear to play a round. Many kitchenware and seasons are good for cooking and BBQ. The air smells fresh outside .Wonderful experience in this house and Tahoe.

Overall, we had a wonderful week in this home. We'd happily stay here again. The home is spacious, well-equipped, and well-maintained.

While there were a couple of minor slip-ups on the part of the property management company, they dealt with them quickly, effectively, and professionally.

You should be aware that there is significant ongoing construction within Schaffer's Camp. In addition, there is an extra charge to use many of the amenities. This was disclosed to us in advance, but any renter should be aware of this.
