This is simply the perfect home in Lake Tahoe! The location is amazing. You are right on the lake with a sublime view, and on a quiet street. While close to other homes, you feel completely secluded. Yet you are a half a mile from the town of Tahoe City, and therefore two grocery stores, all the restaurants, shopping, equipment rental, playgrounds and the movie theatre! You can easily walk to town on the path, and even closer is the Tahoe Bakery with great coffee and baked goods, and a natural market with a great deli. Both are at the top of the street. Tahoe City's running and biking path is at the top of the street as well - and it is fantastic. The house is incredibly comfortable, and we so enjoyed the kitchen, great room and hot tubs. I would love Tahoe Getaways to fix the one missing blind in the great room, purchase knives that work for the kitchen, invest in a handheld mixer and cuisinart for the kitchen, and ensure there is a DVD or Apple TV in the great room as advertised. Other than that - perfection!

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay! We're so happy you enjoyed this home, as it is one of our favorites. And the blind are being repaired this week!

Magical to just sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of being on the Lake. The boat pier and large platform was fantastic allowing the family to swim, fish and enjoy the sun.

The only downside was the bear. Yes, the bear. The bear that opened the door to my SUV and ate my milkduds. The bear that slimed my car seats with mud, mud, mud -------------- otherwise, all was good
Manager response on 2017-08-31 - Response from Tahoe Getaways
Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. It is pretty incredible to be right on the lake! While bears avoid humans, we highly recommend removing any food from your vehicles and keeping them locked, as bears will seek out sweet treats.

Our extended family enjoyed our stay at this home. It had several spaces to gather and we did not feel cramped . The proximity to areas we like to visit was a definite plus. We were able to walk to the city and not have to drive. The private pier allowed the children to dive into the lake which was awesome .

We had a fantastic trip. This home is beautiful and well equipped with everything. Lovely and comfortable. Master suite is amazing! Would be nice to supply some lake toys on deck. Downside? The home was surface clean but not deep clean. Cobwebs and bugs and dust. The deck and deck furniture was sticky and dirty. spent an hour cleaning when we got there. Hot tub needed some work, but we got it nice. Lots of room and chairs on deck was great.

We spent a week here with multiple families. Overall, the house is lovely and worked rather well for our group. We had a fabulous time. The kitchen and dining are especially nice and the rental agency was very responsive to our requests. While I would definitely recommend it, there are some small issues that should be noted and addressed. While the kitchen is pretty well stocked, it lacked some essential items, such as a vegetable peeler and colander and knives that were suitable for cooking and prepping. Also, the description of the garage and driveway was totally inaccurate. It states a two-car garage with room for two more in the driveway. The reality is that the garage doors are so narrow, it was impossible for any of us to use it. The drive way is also narrow and exceptionally steep. Again, not enough room for more than one car to park safely. Lastly, the upstairs master bedroom lacks a door. While it wasn't a huge issue, it should be mentioned. The older bathrooms in the back could use some love as the smell of mold is quite distinct and paint is chipping on the toilet seat.

This was one of the most comfortable, pleasant, beautiful homes we have stayed in. It is upscale, yet completely unpretentious. The on-line description was accurate, the place was impeccably clean and every room had great places to sit and enjoy the beauty of Tahoe. We would recommend this home to our friends and will look to see whether it is available the next time we return to Tahoe.

We loved our weekend stay at this home! The location is fantastic and the home has every amenity you need and more. You can operate the sound system from your phone by downloading the system's App from iTunes. Don't try to use the home's iPad. Although the home was clean upon our arrival, I was mildly disappointed that I had to purchase hand soap and toilet paper to ensure that each bathroom was well stocked. Those were two items the house was supposed to be supplied with. Regardless, we cant wait to stay here again!

This home is in a great location. It has a lot of potential. However, for the price, the following items need to be addressed.

Complex TV system not working properly (missing apps that are supposed to be available).

Vanity and kids bathrooms do not lock.

If you look closely, there are a couple of closed circuit cameras monitoring the house without any mention of them.

Couple of small items like blinds not working and a broken knob on the hot tub.

Upstairs mattress is the quality of cheap motel room. Very bad for your back.

Kids bathroom light not working.

Downstairs box spring was upside down, causing mattress to sink on either side.

BBQ malfunctioned, but ultimately began to work.

Cheap DVD player available in only master bedroom, when DVD player listed at top of rental listing (also very low sound).

Upon entering the home, we found it not cleaned well, including a few dead bugs on the floor and sticky gunk on a bathroom counter.

Again, for what you are paying, ownership should understand that they need to address the foregoing issues.

The house was perfect. When we pulled up we were confused because from the street side of the house it does not look like I imagined it to from the photos online but once you walk in the door it is so beautiful. Everything about the house and the stay was great.
The rental company said to me on the phone the day we checked in that the check out time was 12 and it was $100 to extend that to 3pm so I went off of that. Then the morning of check out at 9:30am I looked at my email to read over the check out instructions and saw that the check out time was actually at 10am and it was $75 per hour to extend it. I called the company and they said there was a miscommunication. So we had to be out in what was now 20 minutes or they would charge us. So the ten of us ran around like mad people to get out. Not the most relaxing end to our stay!
Overall the trip and the property were great. I would completely rent this house again.

We rented the house for 2 nights to celebrate a friend's 60th birthday, and wanted someplace special. The views and amenities did not disappoint. We especially appreciated the Sonos music system, (which we also have at home), gorgeous fireplace, and the way that all the light switches were marked. (This seems like a little thing, but it's a big unfamiliar house so it was really helpful.

Great location less than a mile from the main drag in Tahoe City.

Our one 'ding' would be just a little bit on the cleanliness side. We used the upstairs bedroom and the shower had some hairs in it, plus the closet had a couple of holes chewed in the ceiling with sawdust on the floor. Also, it would have been nice if someone had blown off the deck before our arrival. Yes we are the woods with pine trees and wind, but it looked like that hadn't been done for a while. Also outdoor furniture (in particular the couch) could have used some cleaning as it wasn't that inviting to sit on.

Great house but sliding doors were a challenge - very old and hard to open. Also would have been nice if outdoor areas had been blown of great quantities of tree debris. Outdoor patio table was extremely dirty under it's cover. Should have some kind of place to put clothes in office/bedroom - at least hooks on back of door. No towel bars in bathroom off office. Bunk beds need blankets not just super thin coverlet. Lower bunk against the wall collapsed middle of the night with my son in it. Need to screw in the support structure to frame.
