ABOUT THE AREA

Located at the northern tip of Lake Tahoe, just west of the Nevada State border, is Kings Beach. Known for its outstanding public beach, kick back attitude, and easy access to mountain resorts, Kings Beach is a spot travelers return to year after year. The North Tahoe Event Center often plays host to festivals, concerts, and community events, and downtown Kings Beach boasts shopping and dining options open year round.

Kings Beach State Recreation Area is the flagship beach site in the North Tahoe area. With a lake front stretch of 1,700 feet, it is the largest public access sandy beach on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe. Its south facing aspect and a lake floor that gradually deepens makes this one of the warmest swimming areas on the Lake. A beautiful playground area overlooks the water and barbecue and picnic areas are available. The beach is adjacent to shops, restaurants and the North Tahoe Event Center.

In the winter, you are just ten minutes from Northstar California. There, enjoy access to almost 100 trails and over 3,000 skiable acres, impeccable grooming, incredible tree skiing and enough variety to challenge every level of skier. Nice house. Furniture is sparse. Clothes dryer takes forever to dry clothes.

Great house and location for large family gatherings. Very close to Kings Beach, Truckee and North Star. They provided enough bath and kitchen towels and kitchen supplies. They have lots of games for kids.
There were a few thing that needs to be improved.
The dryer did not work well, bar stools were wobbly and the frying pans very old and falling apart.
The Property management company were great came out right away to fix the bar stools and broken out door patio table.

I stayed for two nights with 9 friends. We had a great time. The home comes with 8 beds, but is so spacious you could sleep 15 if extra people brought sleeping bags. There is a foosball table and Wii U for kids to play with. Hot tub easily seats 4 people. I stayed during the summer but would love to come back for a winter trip.

We stayed in this house for Christmas, we had family coming over to visit from Ireland it was perfect for our large group of people 8Adults and 4 kids .
Lots of games for the kids , and snow stuff in the garage which we used. Kitchen was great had every appliance we needed and extra to make our Christmas dinner.
Only down side I got a call when we were driving there that there was a problem with the hot tub one of the reasons we booked this house,as it was day before Christmas Eve I didn't expect to have it fixed but we had very disappointed guests and Tahoe getaways were great they reimbursed us for not having it. Fabulous house highly recommend it .

Beautiful home

Everything in this home was absolutely beautiful and perfect. Great location and there was so much stuff in the home. Lots of towels, toilet paper, dishes, crock pot, utensils and etc. Lots of board games, console games, TV, movies, books, ping pong table, foosball table and a pool table. I would have given the home a 5 star, however, when we tried to go into the hot tub, it was not warmed up. It was set at 57 degrees and we had to warm it up. We googled how long that was going to take and it said 12-24hr. We were disappointed that the hot tub was not ready for us to go in, especially since we found out on our last night there. There was also no dish soup in the house. We ran most of the dishes in the dish washer but there was no soup for non-dishwasher safe items.

Perfect Girls Weekend

My friends and I go up to Tahoe annually for a long weekend of scrapbooking, reading, movie watching, cooking, etc.. This is a beautiful home with modern amenities. We had lots of room to spread out with our activities in the great room. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. We cooked all of our meals in the kitchen there and found everything we needed. The one time we needed maintenance, which was with one of the heating units in a bedroom, the management service had someone there within 10 minutes. It's a nice neighborhood for going on walks and a quick drive to the lake. We will definitely be going back to this house!

This house had lots to offer, even for the little ones (2-2yrs olds). We liked that the bedrooms were on all different levels, gave everyone their own space. We really enjoyed the kitchen and living room, as we all had room to hang out while eating, cooking, and watching tv. There are so many things to do in this house, games, toys for the little ones (thank you !!!) hot tub, pool table, movies, reading, sitting on deck enjoying the view, and even exercising, along with bike riding, ping pong. The house is very well maintained, lots of space, and a great location. Definitely will be looking at this house again to rent next season. Great property and the ladies at the rental office are awesome. I will be back! **Only downside, was would have liked to have more seating in the living room. there is only 1 couch, and 2 big bean bag chairs, for such a large house that can accomodate many people, not enough seating in living room.

This house had everything, a great location, plenty of room, entertainment for the kids at the end of the day (pool table, ping pong, foosball, etc.). The hot tub was a great place to relax after our days out. The house was clean and had everything we would ever need in the kitchen.

The only complaint: we were there during a heat wave and with no A/C and only two fans the upstairs got very hot during the day and didn't really cool down at night.

All in all this was an EXCELLENT experience. We would definitely consider renting this home again on our next visit.

Away from crowds but close to all that happens

This is a beautiful home that we rented directly from the owner in 2013. He is a stone mason and this house is absolutely gorgeous. In July, 2015, we rented from Tahoe Resort Properties. They were efficient, professional and consistent in service from initial contact through the end of our stay.

We originally expected 9 and ended up with only 6 in our group to stay the nights. This property served our purposes well as there is ample public area. The balconies/decks are a definite plus as you can enjoy nature and see the lake in the distance. The neighborhood is quiet yet not too remote. The kitchen was fully equipped for 12 guests, just do remember to bring the spices that you enjoy. There is also a BBQ on the deck that we used. We were able to invite friends over to enjoy meals together as well as the property.

A binder of "What to do in Tahoe" was very helpful. We also had a wonderful dining experience at Soule Domaine, 9983 Cove St, Kings Beach, CA 96143, Should we be in the area again, we would definitely consider renting this property.

Family Vacation in Lake Tahoe at Lookout Lodge on Commonwealth

We had a wonderful vacation experience. The house itself was beautiful and spacious with a great view! Our families rented two houses but, when indoors, most of our time was spent in this house due to the space and amenities. The one MAJOR disappointment was not having access to ESPN for our weekend football games. While the TVs and related equipment were all top of the line, the cable package was from the dark ages with only the bare minimum in channels available. The homeowners obviously do not realize the importance of football season to their American renters and should consider the $60/year additional cost (according to our research) a solid investment in attracting return customers. The property management company was wonderful to work with and incredibly helpful during our stay. I would definitely recommend this property with the disclaimer that there is limited cable access for sports viewing - might make a difference during college football playoffs!!
