January is Learn to Ski & Snowboard Month

Have you ever wanted to ski or snowboard!? Well now is your chance! January is Learn to Ski & Snowboard Month across the country, and nearly all of the Tahoe ski areas and resorts are offering special promotions and programs to make it easy for people to learn a new winter sport. Guests visiting in January will find package deals on rentals, lift tickets, and professional instruction. With all the new snow we've already had, January is THE perfect time for family & friends to get out on the slopes for the first time & take advantage of all the great deals & discounts!


Tahoe Learn to Ski Packages: 

Several of our ski resorts will be offering discounted packages including rentals, lessons, and lift tickets! See below for information on First Time Skier Packages at the following Resorts:

  • Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows: Learn to ski for just $99 at Alpine Meadows Monday – Friday, Ages 13+, all season long. The First Time Lesson Package includes a beginner lift ticket, equipment rental (skis, boots, pool, or snowboard, boots), and a 2.5 hour beginner lesson.
  • Diamond Peak: Learn to ski or ride for just $94. Includes a beginner lift ticket, rental equipment, and a 1 hour & 45 minute lesson. 
  • Northstar: Will be offering half-day morning beginner ski & snowboard group lessons starting at $185, including all-day equipment rentals & limited-access lift tickets.
  • Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area: From January 9th – 13th & 17th – 20th they will be offering a learn to ski or snowboard package for $39 for first-timers. Package includes all-day lift ticket, equipment rentals, and 1 hr. & 45 min. group lesson for ages 7 & up.
  • Sugar Bowl: The Learn to Ski & Ride program will be offering a 2-hour lesson, all day rentals, & beginner lift ticket for $105.
     
  • Homewood: For just $59, Sunday through Friday, non-holiday, first-timers will receive a half-day lesson along with all-day equipment rental (helmet not included in package but avaliable at an additional cost) and beginner lift ticket - It's everything you need to make your first turns on snow!
