ABOUT THE AREA

Squaw Valley Resort is the largest ski area in North Lake Tahoe, and was the host site of the 1960 Winter Olympics. With 3600 skiable acres, 29 chairlifts, and the only funitel in the US, skiing Squaw has earned a place on many a skier’s bucket list. Now under joint ownership with Alpine Meadows, Squaw Valley is in year five of a five-year, $70 million renaissance, which has brought new chairlifts, an iconic yoga studio and the world’s first ski-in/ski-out Starbucks to the mountains.

Beyond the slopes, visitors can enjoy ice skating, snow tubing, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing. The Village at Squaw offers a wide array of dining and apres options, as well as a full service spa, yoga studio, and many retail offerings.

A true four seasons resort, summer in Squaw Valley is not to be missed. Hike or ride the tram to High Camp Pool and & Hot Tub, where you can swim or enjoy a cocktail at the poolside bar. Play a round of miniature golf, conquer the 25’ outdoor climbing wall, or try your hand at the ropes course. When you’re ready for a day at the lake, sandy beaches await, only fifteen minutes from your door.

POLICIES AND DISCLOSURES

Great location next to Olympic Village. Lots of kitchen utensils and dishes. Good heating and balcony space. Some leaky faucets, and the cold water didn't work in one shower down stairs.

My wife carol and I took 3 of our grandsons to spend time together .we used the bike trails to ride all around the area.we cooked and made meals at the house.the house has good views and the main living space works well. We were looking for a little more open space around us.( the house has many cabins surrounding it).

Our stay at the home was lovely. The house did accommodate our party of 5 though the lack of closet in the downstairs bedroom was a bit of a challenge. Allowing us to have our daughter's companion dog with us was a definite plus. We all enjoyed the quiet location and nice view.

I did contact your management company as there were some things just NOT in line with either the description, photos or cleanliness of the unit….The 200 fee for cleaning we paid is expensive and to arrive to a unit that was not spotless, or just quickly cleaned up is not good. Wet items still in dryer, we dried for you. The sheets didn't look or smell clean, smelled of mens cologne not clean detergent? There are cobwebs throughout the home from ceiling to floor in kitchen, bedrooms etc..we cleaned some of them for you. The drapery is old, needs to be replaced, the main glazed sliding doors do not lock? there were poles and one couldn't be opened due to lacking a screen door in the main room where we needed breeze! Lack of kleenex, waste cans in the master bath and 1/2 bath, no supply. No blender. patio chairs are rickety and need to be replaced. property grounds are not really "natural forest" there are weeds, overgrowth unsightly for such a beautiful home-just needs some attention/cleanup in the landscape. Hot tub was great tho! Please notify future tenants of the home construction just right across the street, early start before 7am, both on Friday and Monday am of our stay unfortunately--with loud music and complete with porta potty on the corner for our view. This should be disclosed in my opinion so we can make a choice at time of booking. The bear box handle is stripped so we could not insert our trash-had to catchup with the trash truck. Other than this the home has such potential! love the location! Would only recommend if these items were taken care of in the future.

This property is located in a peaceful neighborhood very close to Squaw Valley and convenient to Tahoe City. The views from the home are fantastic, but unfortunately the photos no longer accurately reflect the condition of the property. We arrived to find that the yard has been completely taken over by weeds versus the grass and flowers pictured. In addition, some of the patio furniture is gone limiting the opportunity to enjoy the scenery from its many decks.

Inside there were numerous maintenance issues. Multiple window and door latches were broken and/or inoperable. The electrical outlets in the master bathroom were not functioning and there were exposed wires in several places in the home. The floors were dirty and we encountered spider webs in countless locations. This could be a great vacation home but currently it is tired, worn and in need of attention.

Had a great weeks stay. Rental was in a great location in squaw, close to village. Home had lots of kids toys and games for our 4 year old to keep busy, DVD player didn't work properly, but there were enough card games for the adults to play too.would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at Sandy Way Chalet for a wedding in Squaw - the house was perfectly located, only a short drive or nice walk to the village and wedding-related activities. The upstairs master bedroom is enormous, very comfortable and the downstairs bedrooms were just fine. The house needs a good, deep cleaning and a little TLC. There were cobwebs in the windows and we found a dead mouse in one of the bedrooms. But the tradeoff for location still made it well worthwhile. Note that there is major construction going on across the street from this home so until that wraps up, any renters will experience very early, loud construction, even on weekends!
